The geometry of the quintessential rotating black hole and the structure of the horizons are briefly discussed. The analysis of spherical orbits is the main target of investigations. The geodesic equations are worked out using a combined numerical–analytical approach. The obtained results are compared to those for the Kerr black hole, pointing out the effect of the quintessential matter. For a non-rotating black hole, we recover the results obtained for the Kiselev geometry sourced by an anisotropic fluid with the equation of state parameter .
