In this paper, our research objective is mainly to obtain X-type soliton solutions and resonance Y-type soliton solutions for the (2 + 1)-dimensional Konopelchenko–Dubrovsky (KD) equation. Based on the Hirota bilinear method, the multiple soliton solutions of the (2 + 1)-dimensional KD equation are constructed. By setting new constrained condition to the multiple soliton solution, the X-type soliton solutions, 2-resonance Y-type soliton solutions and the two 2-resonance Y-type solitons are obtained. Furthermore, several hybrid solutions consisting of the 2-resonance Y-type solitons and two line solitons are derived. In addition, by selecting two new test functions, two novel Y-type solitons of the (2 + 1)-dimensional KD equation were obtained. Finally, the dynamic behavior of these interaction solutions was studied in a graphical manner. It is hoped that the results of this paper can provide some assistance for the study of soliton theory.
