A simulation model has been formed to compute water heights (WLs) caused by the tide, surge and tide–surge combined effect caused by Cyclone Sidr 2007, which slammed the Bangladesh coast considering the tide-generating forces (TGF’s). A staggered grid system was employed in conjunction with a conditionally stable semi-implicit finite difference method to effectively solve the model equations. Our study emphasizes on the importance of TGF’s for the determination of growing accuracy in WLs owing to a Cyclone. High-resolution grid is taken for the whole desired physical coastal region. Developed model is applied at sixteen coastal stations of Bangladesh to guess water stages allied with the Cyclone Sidr 2007 and determined to be suitable with published findings.
