The conditions for appearing acoustic black holes (ABH) related to the propagation of flexural Lamb waves in three-layered plates are analyzed. It is revealed that with acoustically soft external layers compared to the core layer, the phase velocity and propagation velocity can be made arbitrary low, thereby providing an approach to the perfect ABH. The analysis is based on a combination of modified Cauchy sextic formalism and the exponential fundamental matrix method.
