Application of algebraic properties of matrix to the study of normal modes of vibration in molecules

The aim of this article is to study mathematically and other research directions in the field of normal modes of vibration. The eigenvalues of the matrix describing the intensity carrying modes and the properties of the corresponding eigenvectors are studied here. Using the algebraic properties of the expression for IR intensities for three vibrational degrees we establish relations between intensity carrying modes and dipole strength.
