Abstract
A non-semisimple degeneracy of the dispersion equation of Lamb waves propagating in a homogeneous isotropic plate, when the phase velocity coincides with one of the bulk wave velocities, is observed and analyzed. The correct dispersion equations and their solutions are constructed. Dispersion portraits related to the degenerate cases are considered and analyzed.
