This study aimed to investigate the effect of wind load on traditional dome buildings using the computational fluid dynamic (CFD) techniques. In this study, fifteen Iranian commonly used dome architectures with combined arcs are chosen to numerically investigate the variations in wind pressure coefficient (Cp) on these domes at different heights and angles. Based on the obtained results, the most appropriate form of dome architecture for windy regions is introduced. For validation, a parabolic dome on Type C ground was selected, and different turbulence models were investigated. The k-Epsilon RNG model showed more agreement with the experimental data. This study showed that the form of the dome has a significant effect on the amount of wind load on it, so that the amount of Cp in a certain height range in different domes can be significantly different.
