Lie group analysis and analytic solutions for a (2+1)-dimensional generalized Bogoyavlensky–Konopelchenko equation in fluid mechanics and plasma physics

Under investigation in this paper is a (2+1)-dimensional generalized Bogoyavlensky–Konopelchenko equation in fluid mechanics and plasma physics. We obtain the Lie point symmetry generators, Lie symmetry group and symmetry reductions via the Lie group method. Hyperbolic-function, power-series, trigonometric-function, soliton and rational solutions are derived via the power-series expansion, polynomial expansion and expansion method.
