Time-dependent magnetic field effects on the stability regions of a Paul trap

In this study, the effect of a static and time-dependent magnetic field on a Paul trap is surveyed. Well-known stability parameters and intersection of the stability regions of a conventional Paul trap will change under an external magnetic field. The ion stability in a Paul trap in the presence of an external magnetic field is studied using both analytical and numerical methods.
