In order to research the influence of waveguide cross-sectional shape on LNOI ridge waveguide, a non-trapezoidal shallow-etched ridge waveguide with an arc-shaped angle at the top of the ridge region was proposed. The polarization characteristics and leakage loss of the waveguide under different cross-sectional parameters as well as the relationship between leakage loss and transmittivity under different angles of sidewall were analyzed using vector finite element method. It is found that the smaller the leakage loss, the greater the transmittivity. Additionally, increasing the radius of arc-shaped angle and the angle of sidewall significantly enhances the polarization properties and reduces leakage loss and appropriate arc-shaped angle can facilitate mode conversion, thereby optimizing waveguide performance. Therefore, the results are expected to provide valuable references for further optimizing the design and fabrication of LNOI ridge waveguide.
