In quantum resource theory, quantifying the nonclassicality of a quantum optical state is of fundamental interest. A basic topic is the nonclassicality of the superposition of two coherent states including cat states. The robustness of nonclassicality for even cat states is known. The problem of the robustness of nonclassicality for odd cat states is not completely solved. We introduce a new method to solve this problem. For the unequal real amplitude cat state, we show that the robustness of nonclassicality can be dealt with as in the case of even and odd cat states. While for the superposition of two coherent states with complex amplitude, we find the upper and lower bounds of robustness of nonclassicality are not equal. Our analysis gives the direction of future work.
