The gravitational collapse in asymptotically AdS spacetimes is studied, using the differential configurational entropy (DCE). The DCE is shown to comply with the instability of the Einstein–Klein–Gordon system, leading to different stages in the route to turbulence and the final black hole formation, including near the critical behavior.
