The role of the changes in temperature caused by fueling in the process of Edge Localized Mode (ELM) mitigation and the ELM mitigation by combining fueling and heating is studied by using BOUT + + code. It is found that whatever the fueling deposited in pedestal middle or bottom, the changes in electron temperature and density caused by fueling are always two important factors in mitigating ELM, but the change in ion temperature is not always conducive to mitigate ELM. Only when fueling is deposited in pedestal middle, the change in ion temperature caused by fueling is conducive to mitigate ELM. It is also concluded that to combine with fueling and heating to mitigate ELM is not an effective method.
