We present some comments on the paper [N. A. Khan, et al., Eur. Phys. J. Plus (2020) 135:200]. We consider the linearization of applied to the Laplace transform of the Caputo derivative. Inverting this expression back to the time domain, we find that this procedure approximates the Caputo derivative with a combination of integer-order quantities, which is a severely questionable result. Further, high precision in complex frequency (i.e., Laplace) domain does not imply an high precision in the time domain. We provide some counterexamples in support of our analysis.
