In this article, we explore the non-equilibrium thermodynamic aspects of cosmological apparent horizon in Brans–Dicke (Jordan frame) gravity with homogeneous and isotropic space-time. In particular, we study the time evolution of total entropy including entropy associated with apparent horizon, the non-equilibrium entropy production and entropy of matter inside horizon. We also examine the validity of generalized second law of thermodynamics (GSLT) in expanding as well as bouncing Brans–Dicke (BD) cosmologies.
