Starting with an N body system describing a Bose gas at finite temperatures, we derive a new model that contains a Gross–Pitaevskii equation of motion for the condensate wave function and a quantum Boltzmann equation for the excitations. The model is valid for a wide range of finite temperatures and approaches the standard ZNG model when the temperature of the system T is close to the Bose–Einstein condensate (BEC) transition temperature .
