A new approach is proposed for accurate estimation of thermodynamic properties of nuclear fuels. The method is based on the use of virial coefficients with Lennard-Jones (12-6) potential. The model is applicable to the calculations of thermodynamic quantities of nuclear gases. In this work, we derived new formulae for the calculation of the specific heat capacities and speed of sound of nuclear gases by using the second virial coefficient with Lennard-Jones (12-6) potential. The final results are expressed through the gamma and parabolic cylinder functions that is a better approach to the accurate evaluation of the second virial coefficient. The new approach has been applied to the accurate evaluation of the specific heat capacities and speed of sound for uranium and uranium fluoride gases of ,
