In this paper, the vortex shedding and flow structure around two circular obstacles in a side-by-side arrangement are controlled numerically by means of a magnetic field. The governing equations consisting of continuity and momentum equations are solved by the SIMPLE algorithm under unsteady conditions. Series of simulations were performed for a range of spacing ratios , Stuart numbers and a fixed value of Reynolds number . The effects of the magnetic field strength and spacing ratios on the drag and lift coefficients, streamlines and vorticity contours are investigated in details. It was found that the drag coefficient has a minimum value at the critical steadiness Stuart number. Moreover, there is a 76.5% decrement in the lift coefficient when the spacing ratio grows from 1.5 to 4 for .
