We study an inverted version of the quantum Mathews-Lakshmanan oscillator. The system is shown to admit a discrete spectrum and an associated set of solutions, located in a weighted Hilbert space. We compare properties of the solutions with their counterparts for the conventional Mathews-Lakshmanan model. Furthermore, several supersymmetric partners of our system are constructed.
