Abstract
In a graph, every vertex is either in the dominating set or a neighbor of one or more vertices of the dominating set. The domination number is the size of the smallest dominating set in the graph. In this work, we determine the values of six crucial domination parameters, including strong domination number, weak domination number, strong efficient domination number, fair domination number, perfect domination number and locating domination number, for a specific class of benzenoid hydrocarbon molecular compounds. Furthermore, we conduct a quantitative structure–property relationship-based comparative study between these domination parameters and twelve standard physicochemical properties of benzenoid hydrocarbons to identify the most robust and best-fitting regression models. This study highlights that the locating domination number exhibits outstanding performance compared to other domination parameters and strongly correlates with most physicochemical properties.
