As traditional phase function method is no longer a valid tool to calculate phase shifts for scattering involving local plus nonlocal interaction, thus modified phase–amplitude method is adapted to deal with Deng–Fan plus Graz separable potential. The electromagnetic effect is included rigorously to construct a closed-form expression for the scattering phase shifts. The present approach to the problem circumvents in a rather natural way the typical difficulties of incorporating the Coulomb/electromagnetic interaction in a nuclear phase shift calculation. Our approach is demonstrated by calculating the scattering phase shifts and hence differential cross section and proton analyzing power of p-3He system which compare well with existing experimental and theoretical data.
